Terms of service

1. About these terms

These terms apply to the use of IDParse (the "service"). The service is provided by Wally Gallery OÜ, a company registered in Estonia ("we"). When you create an account or use the service, you accept these terms.

The service is offered for business and professional use. If you act for an organisation, you must have authority to accept these terms for it.

The terms you accept apply to your contract. We may publish revised terms for future contracts. Changes to an existing contract require agreement unless the law permits otherwise.

2. The service

IDParse is an API for document data extraction. You send a photo or a PDF of a passport, an ID card or a visa. The service reads the machine readable zone (MRZ) and returns the fields as JSON, together with the result of the check digit validation.

The service extracts data. It does not decide whether a document is genuine, and it does not compare faces.

We do not add uploaded documents or extracted fields to our account records or application logs. Processing can create temporary files. The software is designed to remove these files during cleanup. The privacy policy has the details.

3. Accounts and API keys

You need an account to use the service. Give correct information and keep it up to date.

An API key gives access to the scans of your account. Keep your keys secret and use them only on your own servers. You answer for every use of your account and of your API keys. If somebody else may know a key, disable or delete it in the dashboard at once.

4. Plans, included scans and the free trial

Each paid plan includes a number of scans for every calendar month. A scan counts towards your allowance only when the service returns a result marked as successful. An unsuccessful result does not count, even if it contains some extracted fields.

Under the standard plans, new scan requests are refused when your allowance is exhausted. A paid plan receives a new allowance each calendar month while the subscription remains active. Moving to a larger plan can increase the available allowance. There are no extra usage charges.

The free trial gives each account a fixed allowance of scans without a payment card. The allowance does not renew. There is no scheduled expiry, but the trial remains subject to these terms and the continued availability of the service.

5. Payment

Paid plans are billed in advance in euro (EUR) through our payment provider Stripe, for the billing period that you choose at checkout. Prices are in euro. Wally Gallery OÜ is not registered for VAT (value added tax), so no VAT is added to the stated price at this time. If a tax becomes payable on the service, it is payable in addition to the stated price.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the selected billing period until cancelled. Changing a paid plan may result in an additional charge or credit for the remaining billing period.

If a payment remains unpaid, we may limit or suspend access to the paid plan. We may send payment reminders to your account email address.

You can cancel renewal of a paid plan in the dashboard. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Closing your account ends access earlier. Unless required by law or agreed otherwise, unused scans and unused parts of a billing period are not refunded.

6. Acceptable use

You agree to the following rules:

• You may send only documents that you are entitled to process. You are responsible for having a valid legal basis and providing any information or obtaining any consent required by data protection law.

• You do not use the service for anything unlawful.

• You do not try to break the service, to overload it, or to get around its limits or its security.

• You do not put an API key into a web page, a mobile app or any other place where others can read it.

• You do not resell access to the service without our written consent.

You do not send document images or extracted personal data by email or in support messages.

You may integrate the service into your applications while complying with these terms. We and our licensors retain the rights to the service software and documentation.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

7. Results and your responsibility

We do not guarantee that every document can be read. Poor image quality, damage and unusual documents can prevent a result.

The response tells you which check digits passed. A field that has no check digit of its own, such as the name, comes without a validity flag.

You are responsible for checking that the results are suitable for your use. Check digits can help detect reading errors, but they do not prove that a document is genuine or that every field is correct. Any checks required by law remain your responsibility.

8. Availability

The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, faults or other operational reasons. These terms do not include a service level agreement or guaranteed support response or resolution times. We may change or discontinue features, subject to your rights under the contract and applicable law.

9. Limitation of liability

The service is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, for lost profit or for lost data. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the same event or related events is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the first such event.

Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to limit, for example for intent or gross negligence.

10. Ending the contract

You can close your account at any time in the account settings. We may suspend access to address a security risk, unlawful use, unpaid fees or a breach of these terms. We may close an account for a serious or repeated breach. When account closure is completed, its API keys no longer work.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Estonia. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence stay in force.
